NCAA Bracketology 2012: Arizona Wildcats Not Projected To Make March Madness

The Arizona Wildcats have played one of the tougher schedules of any team in the nation, and despite their record of 7-3, most feel the team is playing up to their potential after losing Derrick Williams. In the?most recent version?of Joe Lunardi's Bracketology, he has the Wildcats projected as a pretty low seed.

Lunardi, a self-proclaimed "Bracketologist", has the UA as a No. 11 seed in the Midwest region. In the first round he has Arizona facing Mississippi State -- yes, the same team that the 'Cats faced three weeks ago -- and then potentially sets up a showdown with Kansas in the Round of 32.

Again, these are all just silly projections and we are months away from the NCAA Tournament, but it's always fun to see where a team is projected to end up. As of Thursday, Arizona had an RPI around 35 and features a Strength Of Schedule in the top-20. That number will likely drop in the coming weeks, especially with the Pac-12 playing so poorly.

As for the Sun Devils, the team is all-but-eliminated from March Madness. The only way ASU is getting into March Madness this season is if they earn the automatic qualifier bid by winning the conference tournament.
